21st CENTURY PROCESS MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DRIVERS IN PAPERMAKING – ENGINEERING DESIGN & SUCCESS STORIES THE PAST AND FUTURE BY PROFESSOR BALAN PILLAI

Abstract

In this paper, the author made a concise past; and a technical walk-through of papermaking technological process mechanical drivers in taking into consideration, of the paper mills; and paper machine builders perspectives; pin-pointedly Metso, of Finland and Voith, of Germany, Paper Machine Groups. The scope enriched and welded by the research work, hands-on-experiences in designing, commissioning, starting ups, of high-speed paper machines; as well as the theme practiced around the global papermaking environments of the author. There are a lot of practical questions rose; during the process of writing and solved them in personal connectivity with the individual concerned. While reading this document; one may come across with strange expressions that used in the papermaking technology atmosphere and tried to explain the meaning to; it or them; on footnotes or otherwise. However, there might have left many such words which need elaborate explanation to digest the content; bearing in mind that this is not an encyclopedia to go through them thoroughly.
